Oocyte donation is to be considered in circumstances in which the woman suffers from ovarian failure or poor embryo quality related to oocyte factors not amenable to conventional assisted reproductive technologies.

The woman requesting oocyte donation should find an oocyte donor herself. The oocyte donor should be aged between 18 and 35 years and in good health status. Proven fertility in the donor is desirable but not a pre-requisite. Potential oocyte donors may need multiple sessions of psychosocial counseling.
